NPC TRAINING NEW DATES

 *New NPC Census Training Date Set for 25th April*   The National Population Commission (NPC) has announced a new date for the training of adhoc staff for the 2023 Population and Housing Census. The training for emumerators and supervisors, which was earlier scheduled to hold on 31st March, will now hold from 25th – 30th April 2023. The announcement was made during a workshop on census processes and operations held by the NPC in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The workshop was attended by the Chairman and Federal Commissioners of the NPC, who discussed critical steps towards the success of the census. Refresher Training for DQM and Specialized Workforce at State Level is slated from Monday 3rd- 6th April, 2023. While Census Night is slated for 2nd May 2023.   FG bars online banks from accessing customers’ photos and contacts The federal government of Nigeria has banned Loan apps from accessing customers’ photos and contacts From May 31, 2023 loan apps on Play Store will lose their ability to access their users’ contacts or photos on a new policy by Google. Google, in its April 2023 policy updates, said the new policy update would provide respite for loan app users in Nigeria and other places that have become accustomed to crude loan retrieval methods employed by a majority of loan apps. According to the FG, the latest policy by Google was consistent with the Nigerian authorities’ move to curtail the invasion of customers’ privacy by loan app firms. Recently the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission had recently registered 170 loan apps out of the 200 operating in the country.
